William Hill St. Leger Festival
The St Leger Meeting at Doncaster Racecourse boasts the world’s oldest Classic in its
sparkling repertoire: the St Leger Stakes, first run in 1776. The showpiece of Doncaster’s flat
season is enduringly popular for its historical significance and produces a thrilling races year
after year. In 2016 it was won for the first time by a female trainer, Laura Mongan:
racing theatre at its very best. Whilst in 2018 it saw a great dual between Aidan O’Brien’s Kew Gardens and Lord and Lady Lloyd Webbers homebred Lah Ti Dah (GB).
